On February 1 to 3, MICRA Philippines in partnership with the RBAP-MABS program and with the support of Mercy Corps’ MAXIS program conducted a product development workshop for microinsurance providers. The training event was held just days after the Insurance Commission launched the new national strategy and regulatory framework on microinsurance.
Michael J. McCord, international expert on microinsurance and president of the MicroInsurance Centre, facilitated the workshop. Through a combination of lectures, discussion, case studies from other countries and exercise, participants learned how to develop products microinsurance products that are S.U.A.V.E. – simple, understand, accessible, valuable and efficient.
